MWO AND OWWA DUBAI CONCLUDES SERIES OF SKILLS TRAINING FOR OFWS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PHILIPPINE CHEFS ASSOCIATION

14 December 2024 – The Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administrative in Dubai and Northern Emirates concluded its series of Skills Training on Baking, conducted in partnership with the Philippine Chefs Association.

After a series of skills training on barista, homemade noodles, frozen delicacies, and baking conducted from November to December 2024, the MWO-Dubai and Northern Emirates and OWWA in coordination with the Philippine Chefs Association concluded this reintegration skills training series on 14 December 2024, in MWO-Dubai.

Completion training certificates were given to the participants and a certificate of appreciation was provided to the Philippine Chefs Association for the invaluable support that they have given in the skills reintegration training activities of MWO and OWWA Dubai. The skills training was offered to the Filipino Community in Dubai and Northern Emirates, as well as Filipina workers housed in the MWO-Dubai’s Migrant Workers Resource Center, to equip them with additional skills which they could use in their eventual reintegration in the Philippines and/or to start new livelihood or entrepreneurship.

In her closing message , Assistant Labor Attache Nelia A. Olivera highlighted how the training, as part of the reintegration process being the last phase of the migration cycle, would help OFWs, as it provides them options on how to navigate their reintegration. Assistant Labor Attache Olivera thanked OWWA and the Philippine Chefs Association for their support and commitment in addressing the shared aspiration of OFWs in providing for their families through the training which could lead to OFWs’ entrepreneurial journey.
