MANILA โ€“ The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) commended the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai for its unwavering dedication to assisting Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families. This is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to provide continuous protection and support to Filipinos affected by the ongoing Middle East crisis.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac presented the Certificate of Commendation during the DMW Flag Raising Ceremony today, March 16, 2026, at the DMW Central Office. The award recognizes the officeโ€™s round-the-clock efforts in providing on-the-ground support and facilitating the safe, orderly and dignified return of Filipinos to the Philippines. Assistant Labor Attachรฉ Jeane R. Mendoza received the certificate in behalf of MWO Dubai.
A total of 442 Filipinos from the United Arab Emirates, including over 200 OFWs, have been repatriated via a DMW-chartered flight in coordination with the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. ###
