Assistance to National

The Department of Migrant Workers, through its overseas operational arms, Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs), is mandated to protect the rights and promote the welfare of OFWs and their families by ensuring the provision of timely and responsive services to address their needs, regardless of their legal status. This is implemented through the Assistance-to-Nationals Section of the MWOs.

Assistance may come in various forms:

1. Legal Assistance;
2. Labor Assistance;
3. Welfare Assistance;
4. Shelter Assistance;
5. Repatriation Assistance; and
6. Emergency/Crisis Response.

Individual Contract Verification

The MWO verifies individual employment contracts of the following Balik-Manggagawa or returning workers as part of their documentation and issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate.

JOB-ORDERS, DIRECT HIRE/REHIRE OF WORKERS

The authority of the Department of Migrant Workers to accredit principals is delegated to the MWO. All documents for accreditation are verified by the MWO, which shall issue the corresponding Certificate in accordance with Department Circular No. 1, 2023. Verification refers to the procedure being conducted or applied by the Labor Attache to ensure that all the employment rights, benefits, and welfare of Filipino migrant workers at the worksite are duly protected and within prescribed standards.

ACCREDITATION OF TADBEER CENTER (DOMESTIC WORKER)

The MWO verifies documents for accreditation of Tadbeer centers in the UAE intending to hire domestic workers from the Philippines to ensure that all the employment rights, benefits, and welfare of Filipino domestic workers at the worksite are duly protected and within prescribed standards.
